Knock, knock...

Here's something you don't see very often... the other day there were two peacocks on the loose in our neighborhood. So if you've heard your doorbell ring recently but there was no one there when you looked, I'm willing to bet it might have been these two!

Go Ducks!

We spent half our spring break hanging with my brother's family in Oregon. It was a great trip and saying we were stunned by the beauty is an understatement. We went to the coast, climbed to a lighthouse, saw wild sea lions, visited Prefontaine's trail, found a cool old cemetery, and tried several local beers and wines. For any of you who are fans of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series- all I can say is that I expected to see Bella and Edward around every moss covered tree!

Yep, still in Texas

There it is- the unpredictable Texas weather I was just commenting on. You see, although my tulips bloomed this weekend, last night it snowed. Of course it did. And tomorrow it should be in the mid 60s... next week, 70s. In my humble opinion, this is simply ridiculous.
Here is what my yard looked like at 11pm last night:

Am I Still In Texas?

In my opinion, our area of Texas seems to either have incredibly hot weather or ice but the past two days have been simply beautiful. Even though I had strep throat, I spent hours yesterday playing in the dirt and planting new flowers. My reward was to wake up this morning and see that my tulips had bloomed!
